The cross-border study Programme requires students to study across two Campuses: one year at the Peking University HSBC Business School – UK Campus, and another year at Peking University HSBC Business School – Shenzhen, China Campus.
The Programme provides students with an opportunity to gain more international learning experiences during their two-year full-time study at Peking University (PKU) in study of management and finance at the postgraduate level.
Upon successfully completing all first-year coursework at the UK campus, PHBS UK will issue a certificate recognizing your academic achievements in the United Kingdom. Following the successful completion of all second-year requirements and the defense of your thesis, you will be conferred a master's degree from Peking University (PKU).
The Master's in Finance programme is designed to equip students with a comprehensive understanding of financial theory and its practical applications. The programme aims to provide graduates with detailed knowledge of modern financial theories and methodologies and a comprehensive understanding of both financial and economic performances and management.
Students are prepared for various careers in investment, financial management, financial trading, financial product design, financial analysis, financial risk management, and related fields.
The Cross-Border MA in Finance is structured around four modules per year. Each module runs for nine weeks: eight weeks of teaching followed by one week of assessment. Students typically take three courses per module, with five hours of lectures per week per course.
To successfully complete the programme, students must earn a minimum of 54 credits, as follows:

A bachelor’s degree from a recognized university
Your degree needs to be verified by CSCSE prior to enrolment. A minimum GPA of 3.0 (out of 4) or a UK upper second-class undergraduate degree with honours, or international equivalent is strongly recommended.
Background
This programme is open to applicants from various academic backgrounds, preferably with a minimum of 2 years full-time work experience.
English
An IELTS Secure English Language Test (SELT) score of 6.5 overall, with no component below 5.5, is required unless you are from a majority English-speaking country or have completed an undergraduate degree taught in English.
Standardized Test
GRE, GMAT, or other standardized test scores are recommended but not required.
